Despite cancelling the Latin American leg of their 2014 tour, the legendary Blue Man Group are set to dazzle audiences in the capital, with newly confirmed 2015 tour dates.

The group, consisting of three Manhattan-based friends, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton, quickly morphed from a trio of street performers to a famed musical sensation taking unique shows to national theatres.

Since starting out in 1987, the trio have toured across the States before moving on to delight European, Australian and Brazilian audiences.

Aside from being incredibly talented percussionists, their show mixes lights, paint (you are advised to wear a waterproof poncho if you bag front row seats) and funny representations of popular hits – check out the recent cover of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance if you want to get a better idea.

The group’s energetic performances, audience participation and innovative scenery are complemented by a giant screen acting as a backdrop. The sensory experience is both simple and intimate, modern and complex, minimalist and oddly primitive, a cacophony of sounds and music.

Not to be missed, performances will be at the Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitan from July 22 until August 2. Tickets start from COP$93,000, available through tuboleta.com.
